inwards

some reach for the road
and words or philosophies,
in the quiet, hidden moments of need.

some look at antique pastures,
cave paintings,
or silent soliloquoys,

some take time to reach
their hidden moments of need.

all things are equal in this world
said one to some,
said one to another,

we all melt the same
in the face of the fire,
or freeze, in the first of the snows.

some take a measure
at the days end
some more than others,

some turn the torchlight inwards
for what remains unseen
in the quiet, silent, hour of need.
